AND PARTIES

Leigh started dancing at a young age and joined Birmingham stage school and Body Beat school of dance and performed at various national and international venues such as: The Royal Albert Hall, The London Palladium, Birmingham Hippodrome and The Disneyland Paris parade. Through her love of contemporary dance, she moved to Cambridge to study The International Baccalaureate course at Impington Village College and later joined Cambridge County Youth Dance Company performing a site specific piece for Youth Dance England. Leigh went on to study a B.A (Hons) Degree at the Laban Center, whist there she performed in work choreographed by Tom Dale, Tom Rhoden and Gary Lambert. She graduated from Laban in 2010.

Leigh has extensive experience as a dance artist and has worked for Cheshire Dance for a site specific performance for the Embrace The Games Conference for the Cultural Olympiad in 2012. She was also a choreographer and teacher working with learning disabled groups to create dance performances for the Olympic Torch Relay event in Derby and also for the Paralympic Celebration show for Derby. She has also performed in Games Time, a performance piece hosted by DEDA under the direction of Lea Anderson, which was performed to 13,000 people and has also performed in ‘Home’, a site specific performance for the Birmingham International Dance Festival in 2012. In late 2012 Leigh performed at ArtsFest Birmingham, visited by over 20,000 spectators over the course of 2 days as part of Squirm Dance Company. In 2013, Leigh travelled to Germany to both perform and teach internationally as part of Squirm Dance Company with a music festival that specialised in creating partnerships and building relationships between schools, youth clubs, colleges and universities between England and Germany.

As well as running L.H.Dance school in Mere Green, Leigh is also the primary games entertainer for children's parties in the company, and loves forming quick bonds with all the children at a party so that the fun can be started as quickly as possible and has over 5 years of experience in running children's parties in a variety of settings, age groups and party numbers.
